Christmas Festivities in the Lake District!

The Lake District is beautiful all year round, but despite the weather, Christmas brings out the best in the local towns and villages. The light switch-ons have already took place, but there are many more exciting days out before the big day. We have compiled a selection of some of our favourite events to go and see during the festive season.

Ulverston Dickensian Festival (25th & 26th November)

Each year, Ulverston town centre becomes a scene from ‘A Christmas Carol’, with stall-holders dressed in a traditional Dickensian costume. Throughout the weekend there will be live entertainment, great events for children, warming street food, and plenty of gift stalls. A great weekend for the whole family and a fantastic way to start your Christmas.

Hawkshead Christmas Fair and Beer Festival (2nd & 3rd December)

A weekend full of Christmas lights, street entertainers, carol singing and over 50 gift stalls. Also a special lantern parade throughout the town centre on the Saturday. Make sure you check out the local pubs serving local ales and seasonal food, and a winter beer festival in all of the establishments.

Keswick Christmas Fayre (3rd December)

With the stall-holders dressed in a traditional Victorian attire, the 30 market stalls are all local charity’s selling a selection of homemade gifts, produce, festive food and drink. There will also be a selection of live entertainment, including; bands, choirs, and a children’s entertainer. Santa is also making a special appearance, so make sure you pay Keswick a visit!
